AI Doc Sherpa

Turn your Markdown into an AI Support Assistant. No monthly fees, no hallucinatory answers.

Register with your email, upload a markdown file, and try the widget with your snippet and client ID. You get 100 free messages and we ask for no card. After that, messages come in packs: pay once, spend them at whatever pace your traffic sets, and buy again when they run out. There is no monthly fee, so a quiet month costs you nothing. If you never buy a pack, we delete the account after one month.

Account

We email a 6-digit code. New clients get a GUID, a profile, and 100 free messages on their own snippet.

Opening the demo widget does not call our server. Traffic starts when the visitor presses Submit.

How it works

  1. Register with your email. We send a 6-digit code and do not ask for a card.
  2. Upload one markdown file. We index it; a new upload replaces the previous file.
  3. Paste the HTML snippet on your site. Visitors ask; answers come from that file.

Embed a documentation chatbot

AI Doc Sherpa is a support widget for product documentation. It is not a general chatbot. Questions are answered from your markdown, not from the open web. If the documentation does not cover a question, the widget says so instead of guessing.

No monthly fee

You buy message packs when you need them. Unused messages carry over. A quiet month costs you nothing. Each answered question spends one message; questions the documentation cannot answer are free.

See unanswered questions

Every question your widget receives is listed on your profile. The ones marked unanswered are documentation gaps: either the file does not cover them, or it does not use the words visitors typed. Use that list to improve the markdown.

Common questions

How do I embed a support widget that answers from my docs?

Register, upload a markdown file, copy the snippet, and paste it into your site. The snippet includes a client ID that points at your document.

Does the chatbot answer only from my markdown file?

Yes. Answers come from the file you uploaded. It will not invent product details that are not in that documentation.

Is there a monthly fee?

No. You get 100 free messages to start, then prepaid packs. There is no subscription.

What happens if my documentation cannot answer?

That question is free, listed on your profile as unanswered, and the visitor can open a support ticket if you set a callback URL.

Example markdown document

Copy this file, put your product under the headings, and upload it below. Headings split topics; tables, lists, and code stay with their section.

title: Acme Shop support

# Acme Shop support document

This is an example of the **one markdown file** you upload. The assistant
indexes headings as topics, so put each subject under its own heading and write
the answer in the paragraphs below it. YAML at the very top of the file (the
block between `---` lines) is stripped and not indexed.

## Orders and shipping

Orders ship within **two business days**. Tracking appears on the account page
once the label is printed.

Choose *standard* or *express* at checkout:

We ship to:

1. United States
2. Canada
3. United Kingdom
    - Channel Islands on request

### Address changes

We can change the address until the label is printed. Email
`support@acme.example` with the order number.

## Delivery charges

## Widget snippet

Fenced code stays in one piece. A `#` inside the fence is not a heading.

```html
<div class="aisc-root" url="https://aidocsherpa.com?client_id=YOUR-ID"></div>
```

Inline code such as `client_id` is fine in a sentence.

## Links and pictures

Read the [shipping policy](https://acme.example/shipping) for customs notes.

The assistant indexes the picture's alt text, not the pixels:

## Markdown this file already uses

Headings (`#` … `######`), paragraphs, **bold**, *italic*, `inline code`,
fenced code blocks, bullet lists, numbered lists, nested lists, [links](https://acme.example),
pictures, block quotes, tables, and a horizontal rule (`---`).

These CommonMark forms also work; they are omitted above only to keep the
example short:

- Setext headings (a title underlined with `=` or `-`)
- Indented code blocks (four spaces)
- Reference-style links (`[label][id]` plus `[id]: url` later)
- Autolinks (`<https://acme.example>`)
- Hard line breaks (two spaces or a backslash at the end of the line)
- Inline HTML and HTML blocks

GitHub extras such as strikethrough (`~~text~~`), task lists (`- [ ]`),
footnotes, heading `{#ids}`, definition lists, math, and wiki-links are not
turned into special structure. Prefer the tags shown in this file.
